SS Cesar Izturis (strained right hamstring) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 21. He could return in early July.

RHP Anthony Reyes (right elbow inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 16.

RHP Chris Carpenter (Tommy John surgery in July 2007) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on June 22. He began throwing bullpen sessions in late March, and he suffered a setback in mid-June. He was scheduled to throw some bullpen sessions with the Cardinals in early July.

RHP Adam Wainwright (sprained right middle finger) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 8. He will have an MRI on July 7 and hopes to get clearance to begin throwing.

RHP Kelvin Jimenez (bruised right hand) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 31. He began a rehab assignment with Class AAA Memphis on June 19.

RHP Matt Clement (shoulder surgery in September 2006) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He began a minor league rehab assignment June 3.

RHP Josh Kinney (broken right elbow in August 2007) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 16. He experienced tightness in his elbow in late April and was shut down from throwing until mid-May.

LHP Tyler Johnson (left shoulder tendinitis) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 21, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on June 6. He had season-ending surgery May 14.

RF Juan Encarnacion (fractured eye socket in August 2007) went on the 60-day disabled list retroactive to March 21. He won't play this year.

OF Juan Gonzalez (left abdominal strain) played only one game this spring. He was placed on the temporary inactive list March 26.
