Shakeup Works, Pitching Doesn't
Apr. 23, 2009 (Baseball Musings delivered by Newstex ) --

The Mets shaken up lineup featuring Cora batting second, Beltran batting third and Wright batting fifth did its job, as New York scored eight runs against the Cardinals . All three posted multi-hit games, combining to go seven for 13 with four RBI and four runs scored. Beltran even homered.

The Cardinals , however, did them a bit better. Four batters ended the day with three hits. They included Albert Pujols, who connected for two home runs and double. He also scored four runs. That was too much as St. Louis downed the Mets 12-8. The Cardinals led 11-3 late, but the Mets scored five runs over the seventh and eighth inning to make the game somewhat close.
