Wellemeyer said a problem with his mechanics has led to the difficulties that followed him out of spring training and into the season. He is 0-3 with a 6.52 ERA in three games vs. Arizona, and has never started at Chase Field.

Doug Davis

LH - 0-1, 7.20

Davis will be the fifth lefty to start against the Cardinals this season, and he's familiar to several of them. Albert Pujols is 12 for 33 (.364) with a couple of homers off Davis; Khalil Greene is five for 29 (.172) with 11 strikeouts.
