Good evening Mets fans, Mark Macyk here to take you through Game 2 of this three game set between the Mets and the St . Louis Cardinals . The Mets, losers of two straight, will turn to John Maine (0-1, 7.20 ERA) to get back on track. On the hill for the Cardinals will be Joel Pineiro (2-0, 5.40).
Tonight looks like as good a time as any for the Mets to turn it around. Despite holding three more wins, the Cardinals have the exact same team ERA as the Mets, 3.96. In addition, the Mets boast seven everyday players hitting above .300: Luis Castillo (.400), Carlos Beltran (.354), Ryan Church (.350), Jose Reyes (.339), Daniel Murphy (.320), David Wright (.306) and Carlos Delgado (.300). Only three Cardinal regulars are hitting above .300, and oddly enough, two have brothers in the Yankees system, Ryan Ludwick (.378), Chris Duncan (.362) and Yadier Molina (.348).
