GOLF - Financially strapped General Motors Corp. is dropping its endorsement deal with Tiger Woods, effective at the end of the year. Woods has been carrying the Buick logo on his golf bag for the last nine years and still had one year left on his contract but the automaker said both parties agreed to end the deal. GM is trying to survive the worst sales downturn in decades. The endorsement deal, believed to be worth at least $7 million a year, was to expire at the end of 2009.

Baseball - Three charges against Barry Bonds were dismissed Monday by a federal judge who left intact most of the indictment alleging he lied to a grand jury when he denied knowingly taking performance-enhancing drugs. Bonds, Baseball's home run king, is scheduled for trial March 2. He had faced 14 counts of making false declarations to a grand jury investigating steroid use in sports and one count of obstruction of justice. Bonds has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

- The Colorado Rockies have added five coaches to their staff, including Don Baylor, who once managed the team, as hitting coach. He also has had the role for the Cardinals. The Rockies also brought in Jim Tracy to serve as the bench coach and Rich Dauer as third base coach. Jim Wright becomes the bullpen coach and Brian Jordan is the strength and conditioning coach.

- Terry Kennedy was promoted to manager of San Diego's' Class AA affiliate in San Antonio. He spent six seasons as a minor league manager, including a stint in the Cardinals' organization.

SKIING - Jeremy Bloom, a two-time Olympian, said he plans to start working out with the U.S. ski team in the first step toward possibly reviving his freestyle skiing career. This follows his a unsuccessful bid to try to play pro football. He was a receiver at Colorado, but was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers last summer.

MEDIA - Fox Sports Midwest's Pat Parris has been added to the lineup at WMVN (101.1 FM), which adopts an all-sports format in January. He will work with Post-Dispatch sports columnist Bryan Burwell in the 10 a.m.-2 p.m. weekday slot. Parris will continue to work for FSM. Randy Karraker previously had been hired as a co-host for the station's afternoon drive-time show. It appears that Bob Ramsey - currently under suspension at rival station KFNS (590 AM, 100.7 FM) - will be his partner. WMVN plans to air ESPN Radio's "Mike and Mike'' show in the morning.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's men's team plays its home opener tonight, against Blackburn College at 7:30. The Cougars are 1-4 following a five-game trip through three states.
