
ATLANTA (AP) - St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Brendan Ryan left Wednesday night's game against the Atlanta Braves in the fifth inning because of tightness in his left hamstring.
Ryan was injured while running to first base on a foul ball down the third base line. Ryan grabbed the back of his leg after crossing the bag and walked slowly to the dugout. Brian Barden replaced Ryan as a pinch hitter.Ryan was 1-for-1 with a double and a run scored in the third inning.
