Yesterday was supposed to be the day that Tom Glavine was going to face his former Met teammates for the first time. But Friday’s rainout pushed Glavine not to today’s game, all the way to Colorado. So you’ll all just have to settle for John Smoltz vs. Johan Santana (all together now: awwwwww.) The Braves reason that they don’t want to bring back Smoltz from the DL in the thin air of Denver. It also helps that Smoltz has had some recent success against the Mets, like in ‘05 and ‘06 when his ERA against New York was under 2.50. The Mets look to Johan for a series split after taking it on the chin on Saturday.Continue Reading
